Issa Asad self confidenceIt’s natural to have days where your self-confidence might not be where you want it to and there are several reasons why it happens. But it’s important not to place too much focus on the root of the problem. “Instead, look towards finding a solution,” advised Issa Asad, a Florida-based entrepreneur since 1996. Mr. Asad is the CEO of Q Link Wireless and Quadrant Holdings, located in South Florida. Here are 7 ways to boost your self confidence and fight those moments that you can’t control.

Tip No. 1 – Just Smile

It might not be the easiest thing to do while you’re feeling low, but when you start to see the effects your smile has on the people around you it will be worth it. Never underestimate the power of a smile, because you are bound to cheer up somebody’s day. In return you will start to feel better. Consider this a practice of karma; what you put out comes back even stronger. Sometimes it’s the most basic act that leads to greater things.

Tip No. 2 – Reach New Heights

Never be too scared to challenge yourself in order to reach new heights. It’s also one of the best ways to get your self-confidence back in shape. Whether you decide you are going to run a little further today or simply cook a meal you’ve never tried before, take the risk and reap the benefits of feeling good about yourself. Habits create comfort zones that might make you feel safe and secure, but they also need to expand and evolve, otherwise you’ll start to have more days without confidence.

Tip No. 3 – Dress to Impress

Start by taking a long bath or a shower and groom everything you feel needs grooming. Use your best shower gels and soaps. When you are finished you dress in the clothes that make you feel good. For the women, utilize your make-up and for the guys, spray some cologne. It doesn’t even matter if you plan on going anywhere, because this little ritual will boost your self-confidence dramatically and you’ll feel ready for anything.

Tip No. 4 – Stop Making Excuses

If you’ve wanted to do something for some time, but you’ve always found some reason or another to put it off, now’s the time to do it. Regardless of how mundane it might be, put your mind to it and follow through. It doesn’t have to be exciting or life-threatening, just as long as it’s something you feel passionate about.

Tip No. 5 – Reflect

All the things you have achieved up until now are going to become part of your everyday life, which means you start to take these accomplishments for granted. Sometimes we just need to sit down and take stock of the great things we’ve done so far. More importantly, it’s necessary to realize you are much stronger than you give yourself credit for. When you feel low then reflect on your previous accomplishments and it will automatically give you a boost.

Tip No. 6 – Get Rid of Stress

One of the most dangerous things in the world is stress. It causes depression and might well be the root of your problem. You’ll know if stress is the source and when you realize this you need to do things that help you to relax. Whether you like to paint, sing or simply drive around town, do it. After a couple of minutes you’ll notice the positive effects.

Tip No. 7 – Do Something for Somebody Else

Helping somebody out can do wonders for your own self-confidence. Once again, it doesn’t have to be something major. Small gestures like holding the door for somebody or giving up your seat on the bus hold great emotional rewards.
