1. Understand the company’s culture
Learning the ropes in a new company is not easy when you have to learn a lot of new things in a short period. Your priority is to understand its culture. These are the unwritten words behind the employees’ manual. It can only be experienced, not read or touched. Its culture is what sets it apart from other organization. This will give you foresight on how not to survive but thrive. A clear understanding of its mission and vision will set your career off to a great start. Immerse yourself and see it before your own eyes.
2. Size up your boss
In any company, your boss can be your greatest supporter or detractor. Their guidance is crucial for you to get a breakthrough in your career. Do not let your first three days past without talking with your superior. Find out their expectations, their vision and how you will fit in the whole puzzle. As you are new, work on earning his trust by creating a good impression.
3. Get to know your colleagues
Adapting well with your colleague is important for you to create a harmonious working relationship in your new job. Make some time to meet your colleagues. Join them during coffee breaks or lunches. 4. Start with a clean slate
