galaxys3Pushing the envelope on its flagship products appears to be the industrial key to Samsung’s success in the wake of the iPhone phenomenon. Samsung displayed a tremendous upswing with the Note and Galaxy S-series.

Rumors about the next flagship product, the Samsung Galaxy S4, are already doing their rounds in select circles. With CES 2013 just around the corner, expectations are also quite high. We heard initial rumors about Samsung Galaxy S IV just about a couple of months back when it was leaked that the processors are being upgraded. A flurry of activity has revealed some more pieces of information regarding Samsung Galaxy S4.

Among the Galaxy S4 features that have been rumored already, we’ve got:

  • 4.99″ Super AMOLED display
  • 441 ppi resolution
  • 1080p HD support
  • Exynos 5450
  • Quad-core, Cortex A15
  • 13 MP camera
  • NFC, quite naturally

On Samsung Galaxy S4 Release Date:
While it has been pitched that CES 2013 could possibly be a window of opportunity for Samsung to showcase its next contender, we have our own reservations against this. Like noted on Trusted Reviews, Samsung would probably have a separate media event specifically for the announcement and launch of Samsung Galaxy S4. Perhaps, following its S3 success, Samsung might even go for an Apple-esque launch for the S4.

This would make sense as Samsung realizes that hype helps and takes on Apple directly.

On the features; notably, the Exynos 5450
Although the quad-core CPU sounds great on paper, experts have observed rightly that the drain on battery could turn out to be catastrophic. Even if the device was large enough to accommodate a large power house inside it, the 5450 would draw enormously and may not be a fitting solution. But Samsung has been at the leading edge of finding appropriate solutions to these concerns.

Earlier it was rumored that Galaxy S4 release date would be Jan-Feb 2013. Right this moment, rumors indicate an April 2013 launch of Samsung Galaxy S4. Again, it is debatable but in view of the competition, it looks like a very probable launch window.
